Lots of things get wrapped up at the end of the year - usually in festive paper and colorful ribbons (or maybe your Spotify Wrapped list). But what about your year - do you “wrap” it up and put a bow on it as December draws to a close? The end of a year is an apt, natural time to look back on the year that was, take inventory and ask what did you do for the last 360-some days of your life that seemed to go by in the blink of an eye?
It’s very easy to take a quick assessment and determine that, based upon what you didn’t accomplish that you wanted to - or what you endured (that you didn’t want to), the year was “meh” at best. I’m here to tell you, however, that it doesn’t take much more digging to discover the riches of the previous year hiding just below the surface.
Wouldn’t it be a tremendous gift to yourself to honor ALL of your 2024, put it in perspective, pat yourself on the back and gaze in wonder and appreciation at an inspiring image of the accomplishments, growth, and spunk you lived into? To face, point blank, the challenges you overcame and the disappointments and losses you need to grieve? Imagine gathering those gifts you gave yourself as you were just “one-day-at-a-timing it” into one stunning package that was your year; to wrap it up and cherish a trip around the sun well lived…
You can (and imho, should)! How? By attending the Gather the Gifts event on December 21, a yearly solstice celebration, hosted by Kelly Carlin, founder of Humans on the Verge (a community in which I’m proud to be entering my fifth year as a member). HotV has cracked open my psyche, which has empowered me to change my relationship with myself, which in turn has transformed my life into a bus that I am mindfully driving, rather than the other way around.
At Gather the Gifts, you’ll have the opportunity to pause, reflect, absorb and release the events of 2024 and come to realize a deeply considered and grounded picture of your year (and I’ll bet you’re going to need a bigger box than you thought you’d need to wrap it properly). I’ve attended every year it’s been offered and I never fail to come away feeling emotionally and spiritually full, like I’ve ingested a satisfying, nourishing meal - yet at the same time, lighter and at peace with what has transpired and looking eagerly ahead, empowered and hopeful. And 100% satisfied with the reality of my “only human” status.
You will benefit from a day spent in this community; we love opening our final session of the year to the public so they can glean the benefits of this powerful ceremony of awareness, self love, acceptance and hope. Kelly has provided Friends and Family tickets to us so we can invite our own communities into Humans on the Verge for this day of Gathering the Gifts. I hope you can join us - it’s truly the meaningful shot in the arm that’s so necessary as the year ends! It’s become as much a holiday tradition for me as Christmas Day rib roast (and that’s completely non-negotiable, you know…).
I hope to see you at Gather the Gifts - you deserve to end your year on a strong note!
